This week’s musing is going to be a bit simpler…
What are you currently reading? Would you recommend it to others? Is it part of a series (if so, which one)? What are you thinking about it? What book(s) would you compare it to, if any?
I’m started reading Sarah Waters’s The Little Stranger yesterday which has been on my want-to-read list since I found out it was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2009. I’m only about 50 pages in but I find it interesting so far, set in the post-war period in the countryside. The main characters have already been introduced so now I’m curious as to how the story’s going to play out. Dunno exactly what novel to compare this to, maybe a bit to Atonement because it’s about a gentry family and a sort of outsider figure who’s known the family for so long sort of intertwined with their lives. Not sure what other themes I can relate to other novels because I’m not so far in at the moment. We’ll see =)
