Writing: Finding the Topic

First off, this is most appalling that it’s been a while since I’ve posted here. Things have been…busy on my end to say the least (by the way, yeah, I changed the presentation skin—was in the mood for something blue, something involving the sea…and I admit, the skin is a lot more organized with more options and stuff).
So my rambling this time around is on the process that occurs before one actually sits down and writes: the bit where you have to figure out what you’re going to be writing about. It’s a topic that’s been fairly frequent with me lately; I haven’t written an opinion piece for three issues now in part because I’ve been so busy but also in part because I honestly can’t think of a subject to write on. The same happened to me while I was deciding what to write my major research essays on, which is probably why I’m going insane trying to finish them all now (by now you might have picked up that I am something of an organized neat freak—sort of).
